Learning outcomes

At the end of the course the student has successfully attended the service assigned to him and therefore has a preparation that allows to recognize, deal with and solve simple diagnostic cases.

Course contents

  1. The pillars of dental prevention in children and adolescents: nutrition, oral hygiene, topical and systemic fluoride, regular visits, pit and fissures sealants.
  2. Caries in deciduous teeth: epidemiology, etiology, prevention guidelines.
  3. Dental injuries of traumatic origin of the deciduous dentition: epidemiology, prevention guidelines.
  4. Caries in permanent teeth: epidemiology, etiology, prevention guidelines.

Teaching methods

Working groups on subjects identified by the students in agreement with the teacher, with the collaboration of the contract professor. Theoretical and practical exercises at the Dental Assistance Service for the disabled in the developmental age of DIBINEM

Assessment methods

Oral presentation of a bibliographic review on a pre-selected topic. Presentation of clinical simulation.
