Learning outcomes

At the end of the learning module the student will understand and will be able to apply in a clinical context: the diagnostic techniques, the methodology and the technology required to assess and manage the parturition process and the puerperium

Course contents

General principles of biostatistics; maternal and feto-maternal adverse events in the developed countries and in a global context; dating pregnancy, the processes of labor and delivery and puerperium; the complications of the parturition process including malpositions and malpresentations, dystocia, fetal hypoxia, perineal lesions; diagnosis and management of labor and delivery; fetal surveillance; operative deliveries; induction of labor
