Learning outcomes

At the end of the course, the student knows the principles of ergonomics and security in harmony with the current legislative framework and has the skills to assist the person during transfers and posture passages.

Course contents

This course focuses on the following objectives: • Informing on current legislation on safety and health in the workplace, with particular reference to the risk of manual handling of loads; • to make known the added value that ergonomic discipline brings to improving the quality of working conditions; • to make known the aids for manual handling of patients; • to make known the characteristics and the correct use of wheelchairs, pillows, mattresses and beds; • to make known the patient posture and transfer maneuvers; • To raise awareness of the importance of proper use of aids and the proper execution of handling maneuvers both to prevent accidents and occupational illnesses of the same operators and to ensure the safety and well-being of patients.
