Learning outcomes

At the end of the course the student will know the basic principles about the most important diseases caused by pathogen microorganisms, particularly involving the legs.

Course contents

  1. General principles about diagnosis and therapy of infectious diseases.
  2. Respiratory tract infections: flu, alveolar and interstitial pneumonia, pulmonary tuberculosis
  3. Gastro-intestinal infections: cholera, minor salmonellosis
  4. Viral hepatitis
  5. Skin and soft tissue infections
  6. Infectious osteomyelitis, infectious arthritis
  7. Infectious endocarditis
  8. Viral and bacterial meningitis
  9. Arthropod-borne infections: Lyme disease
  10. Sepsis
  11. HIV infection and AIDS
