Learning outcomes

At the end of the course, the student: - knows the legal institutions (fundamental) that characterize in a social perspective the national order, identifying in social law a priority instrument for transit from formal, substantial, and community to equality, The original aim of economic cohesion is that of social cohesion; - knows the architecture of the current social protection system, and hence the meaning, content and institutional projection of welfare states, welfare mix and welfare society expressions; - knows the elements that characterize both theoretical and historical perspectives, 'interventions' and 'social services', as well as the regime of those which, in greater detail and with regard to the current regional regulatory system, see the latter distinct Between socio-educational services, social-welfare and socio-sanitary services; - knows the structure of the subjects of the Third Sector, with particular regard to the organization of volunteering and social cooperatives; - also knows, in general terms, the current social security system; - is therefore in a position to grasp the legal-formalities that articulate the plurality of public policies in the social field and to guide their professional perspectives on the grounds of public or private work with appropriate awareness of their respective consequences; - to critically appreciate, in terms of validity (legitimacy) and organizational effectiveness, the access procedure by a person in need of a public service of a social nature, and how, if necessary, to safeguard the failure or expulsion.

Course contents

The course is divided into two modules, functionally linked to each other, in order to ensure an organic and reasoned approach to the subject matter of the specific Teaching.

In particular:

-the first module is designed to provide the student with a general preparation on the various legal institutes of Italian law as well as on the elements that characterize the existing social protection system; so much space will be devoted to the analysis of the constitutional dimension of social rights to health care;

-during the second module, in addition to the study of the legislative regulation governing social and health rights and social services, particular attention will be paid to the main categories of social policy intervention and to the theme of social and health integration.

The aim is to provide students with the basic notions of Italian public law, together with the elaboration of legislation governing social and health services.

Teaching methods

Frontal lessons, combined with moments of dialogue and discussion with the students on issues for which the latter have shown particular interest.

Assessment methods

The profit test consists of an oral interview, which is designed to test the student's preparation on the most significant topics dealt with during the lessons.

In particular, three questions will be addressed to each student, which will concern, respectively, the legal institutes of Italian law, the discipline in the field of health and the social services system.

 

Thesis

The graduation thesis is awarded upon formal request by the student (for this purpose, it is sufficient to send a special e-mail to the teacher) and subsequent interview.

The thesis is usually given on the basis of the chronological criterion, respecting the maximum roof provided by the Chair, noting the maturation and attendance at the Course and the convincing manifestation of interest for the Materia specification.

A copy of the thesis must be delivered to the teacher at least one month before the relevant discussion.

Teaching tools

The course will be held for further training seminars, the dates of which will be announced by the teacher during the lessons or by posting in the special school boards, in the lessons and in the classrooms.
