Learning outcomes

At the end of the module the student has the knowledge and the capacity to apply understanding of the principles of physical therapy, massage manual, through detailed knowledge of therapeutic indications and contraindications.

Course contents

MASSOTHERAPY
1. The manual massage
neurophysiological principles and mechanical effects of action, indications, contraindications
maneuvers of massage, touch, rubbing, kneading, friction, percussions, vibrations.
Application of maneuvers in various parts of the body.

2. Manual lymph drainage according to Vodder
theory and physiological basis of lymph drainage
elements of anatomy and physiology of the lymphatic system.
Technical and application of lymphatic drainage from different tissues.
Indications and contraindications of lymphatic drainage.
3. The connective tissue massage
neurophysiological basis of connective tissue massage according to Dicke, distribution of dermatomes
indication and contraindication of connective tissue massage.
