Learning outcomes

At the end of the module, the student possesses, as far as relevant, his / her knowledge of methods of study and intervention techniques which, in the different operating models (individual, relational, family and group), characterize the clinical applications of psychology at Different areas (people, groups, systems) to solve their problems.

Course contents

Definition of Clinical Psychology and Fields of Application.
The main models of the mind, the psychodynamics, the relational approach.
Psychoanalysis and the problem of hysteria, the psychosessential phases, the Oedipus complex.
Ego psychology, psychological defenses, and adaptation.
Object relations theory, schizo-paranoid and depressive phenomena, hate and envy pre-oedipich.
The attachment theory: the strange situation and attachment style. Mentalization.
The problem of diagnosis in clinical psychology: the DSM V and the Kernberg model.
Psychotherapy items: transfer and countertransference, resistances and defenses.

Readings/Bibliography

You do not need to buy specific texts. During lessons it will be provided: educational material also available through username and password at AMS Campus - AlmaDL - University of Bologna, references to suggested texts.

Teaching methods

Teaching consists of 8 frontal lessons of 3 hours each for a total of 24 hours. The contents of the program will be presented with examples of clinical cases.

Assessment methods

Verification is intended to evaluate the learning of key mind models to understand, manage, improve the relationship between healthcare worker and assisted. A questionnaire will we provided to student for examination.

Slides, movies, interactions with students will be used.
