Learning outcomes

the student knows the clinical applications of psychology in different medical contexts, in the wellness field, in psychological and psychosomatic disturbances. He/she detects the main reactions of the person to acute and chronic illness, suffering and hospitalization, with the due respect to personal, cultural, racial and religious differences.

Course contents

Introduction to Clinical Psychology; psychological developement fron birth to death; psychological mechanisms of defence, illness behavior, alexitymia and somatization, psychological reactions of the patient and the caregiver to stressful events as Ictus, Chronic Illness, Chronic Pain; the medical-psychological integrated therapy.
