The Integrated Research Teams of the University of Bologna are critical masses of teachers and researchers from various Departments of the University, who share research interests in a transversal thematic sector or specific geographical area. They are innovative models of organisation and coordination of the many scientific expertises at the University of Bologna, offering:

  • concrete integration of multidisciplinary competences in the related thematic area
  • an interdisciplinary approach and strategic vision promoting scientific excellence
  • a single, facilitated access to a multitude of competences for the sector stakeholders.

 

The Integrated Research Teams of the University of Bologna work in research in a range of sectors: 

  • Social Economy and Civil Society IRT: integrated research team in Social Economy and Civil Society at the University of Bologna. 
  • Alma Food IRT: integrated research team in the agri-food sector at the University of Bologna.  
  • Alma Heritage Science IRT: the integrated research team on Sciences and Technologies for the Cultural Heritage.
  • IRT Brasil: the integrated research team promoting the University's scientific competences for the geographical area of Brazil and Brazilian relations with Italy, Europe and Latin America.
  • Alma Sequencing: the integrated research team promoting the University's scientific competences in genome sequencing.
  • Alma Low Carbon: the multi-disciplinary group at the University of Bologna working in the field of energy, environmental sustainability and the transition towards a “low carbon” society.
