Agreements and networks

The University of Bologna is a member of International Networks and signs cooperation agreements with universities in countries all over the world; in particular, it signs Bilateral Agreements as part of the European "Erasmus Lifelong Learning" programme and Framework agreements with Universities from countries beyond the European Union. Membership of Networks aims to promote cooperation with other universities to harmonise the European dimension of higher education, while the signature of agreements aims to strengthen academic relations to implement mobility programmes for teaching staff, researchers and students.
Erasmus Charter for Higher Education
The European Commission has recently awarded the Erasmus Charter for Higher Education to the University of Bologna. The Charter will allow the participation of the University of Bologna to compete for the available funds in the framework of the new Programme for Education, Training, Youth and Sport "Erasmus +" in the period 2014 – 2020.

Departmental projects and initiatives with an international vocation
The internationalisation process sees the University of Bologna involved in cooperation projects, the development of curricula and capacity building across the globe. To support these initiatives, some departments with an international vocation have been established at the University of Bologna.
