Interlibrary loan and document delivery

This service allows readers to get items not available at Ruffilli Central Library, from Italian or foreign institutions. In turn, the Library places its own resources at the disposal of other libraries.

Interlibrary loan

Readers may borrow books from other Italian or foreign libraries.

Who is entitled to this service, if enrolled to the Library:

  • students  of Forli Campus Schools, who must submit an enrolment certificate for the current academic year, which may be downloaded from Online Services. They cannot borrow more than 8 books  at a time;
  • exchange students of Forli Campus Schools. They cannot borrow more than 5 books  at a time, to be consulted in the Library;
  • students of Bologna University with a certified disability;
  • professors and staff of Forli Campus.

Requests must be submitted using the online form.

Delivery times will depend on the libraries supplying the items.

The Library will inform users when their books arrive, or if it proves impossible to satisfy the request.

Extensions

Readers may apply for an extension of their interlibrary loans provided no one else has booked the item(s). Loan extensions can be made in person, by e-mail or by phone.

Obligations and penalties

Readers must not damage or underline the books and must return them by the due date. If they do not comply, the library will ask for a refund or will suspend their borrowing privileges.

Local Interloan

Readers may borrow books from the participating libraries.

Who is entitled to this service, if enrolled to the Library:

  • students of Bologna University, who must submit an enrolment certificate for the current academic year, which may be downloaded from Online Services. They cannot borrow more than 3 books  at a time;
  • professors and staff of Bologna University. They cannot borrow more than 3 books  at a time;

Requests must be submitted in person.

Readers may get photocopies of articles or parts of books from Italian or foreign libraries.

  • students of Bologna University with a certified disability;
  • professors and staff of Forli Campus.

Libraries

The Library guarantees interlibrary loan and document delivery service to other libraries. Private citizens’ requests will not be accepted.

The service is free of charge for libraries registered with Nilde, the ESSPER project, and for the libraries of  Bologna Library Network granting free mutual terms or libraries having special agreements with Ruffilli Central Library.

All other libraries will be asked to refund expenses on materials provided. The refund is to be made by bank transfer to the account:
