Who can apply

EADIC II supports mobility schemes for Argentinean PhD scholars, Post-doc Fellows and Academic/Administrative Staff. The project offers scholarships to spend a period of mobility at one of the 10 European partner universities. No scholarships are available for undergraduate or master students. No scholarships are available for European citizens.

General requirements

In order to apply for a grant in the framework of EADIC II, applicants must fulfil the following general requirements:

  1. Must be Argentinean citizens except for Academic/Administrative staff (see FAQ for the citizenship requirements of Academic/Administrative Staff)
  2. Must belong to one of the following levels: PhD candidates; PhD scholars; Post Doc fellows; Academic/Administrative staff
  3. Must have sufficient knowledge of the language used at the host university.
  4. Must have not resided nor have carried out their main activity (study, work, etc.) for more than a total of 12 months over the last five years in one of the European countries.

Eligible categories

Applicants must belong to one of the following target groups:


TARGET GROUP 1 (TG 1) - four categories: applicants currently enrolled or employed at one of the Argentinean universities, members of the consortium. Only for TG1 applicants: please contact and inform your home university International Relations Office before applying. All the contact details are provided on the partners page.
The following categories of applicants belong to target group 1:

  • Sandwich PhD: Argentinean PhD scholars regularly enrolled in a PhD programme in one of the 10 Argentinean partner universities and willing to spend a period of study/research of 6/10 months at one of the 10 European partner universities. The activities carried out in Europe have to be coherent with the PhD topic developed at the home University. These scholars are expected to go back to their home country to finish their studies.
  • Full PhD: Argentinean PhD candidates, not enrolled in a PhD programme yet, currently working at one of the 10 Argentinean partner universities involved in research, didactic or administrative areas and willing to enrol in a Full PhD programme at one of the 10 European partner universities.
  • Post Doc Fellowship: Argentinean fellows with a PhD title, currently working at one of the 10 Argentinean universities involved in research, didactic or administrative areas and willing to apply for a Post Doc Fellowship programme at one of the 10 European partner universities.
  • Academic/Administrative Staff: professors, administrative and technical staff, currently working at one of the 10 Argentinean universities and willing to spend a period of mobility for teaching, research and institutional cooperation at one of the 10 European partner universities.

TARGET GROUP 2 (TG 2) - three categories: applicants affiliated to other Argentinean universities, not members of the consortium, or working in public or private institutes active in the thematic fields of the project holding a university degree or equivalent issued by an Argentinean institution.
The following categories of applicants belong to target group 2:

  • Sandwich PhD: Argentinean PhD scholars regularly enrolled in a PhD programme at another Argentinean university (not member of the consortium) and willing to spend a period of study/research of 6/10 months at one of the 10 European partner universities. The activities carried out in Europe have to be coherent with the PhD topic developed at the home University. These scholars are expected to go back to their home country to finish their studies.
  • Full PhD: Argentinean PhD candidates, not enrolled in a PhD programme yet and willing to enrol in a Full PhD programme at one of the 10 European partner universities. These citizens should be working at another Argentinean university (not member of the consortium) or in any Argentinean public or private institution active in the thematic areas of the project.
  • Post Doc Fellowship: Argentinean fellows with a PhD title, willing to apply for a Post Doc Fellowship programme at one of the 10 European partner universities. These citizens should be working at amother Argentinean university (not member of the consortium) or in any Argentinean public or private institution active in the thematic areas of the project.
