Giorgio Gruppioni, chair of Anthropology, Faculty of Conservation of Cultural Heritage, University of Bologna (Ravenna campus) since 1999.
Full Professor of Human Ecology from 1986 to 1999, University of L'Aquila. Director, in addition to the Course in Anthropology, of the teaching of Human Ecology in the Degree Course in Environmental Sciences, University of L'Aquila.
Previously Head of the Department of "Environmental Sciences", as well as Coordinator of Doctoral Research in "Environmental Sciences: the Environment and Man in the Apennines" at the same University.
National coordinator of twoProgram of Scientific Research of Significant National Interest (MURST, 1998-'99: "Bioanthropological indicators in communities subject to specific environmental pressures: evaluation of generational changes"; MURST, 2000-'01: "Microevolutioanary processes in human populations analyzed by means of biocultural and ecosensitive indicators"). Director of the operational unit of the Cultural Materials Research Project of the Italian NRC.
